Yes, back when comic books told coherent stories and did it over twenty or thirty issues.

If you missed one, then you missed a part.

Even DC was doing it in the '80s to some extent. I remember when stories in Batman and Detective Comics had red skies storming with red rain for no apparent reason. Then a friend let me read the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" comics and I understood. That was a decent storyline, as I remember it. But now they have another crisis what, every month or so?

Nice review! I remember reading the Korvac Saga back in my youth. Bronze Age Marvel was a fun time in comic books. I miss those days.

Thanks, Darrin. Yes it was.

THE KORVAC SAGA was one of my favorite storylines from that era. Captain America in particular stood out during The Last Stand. There was also a WHAT IF that followed shortly giving the alternate story of "What if Korvac had TRIUMPHED." Scary stuff. It even frightened The Watcher!

Absolutely.

Captain America was downright inspirational in the final battle when he got a couple panels to shine. I think I started becoming a fan of the character from that moment.

I consider it peak Bronze Age Avengers, though their battle with the Squadron Supreme (also written by Jim Shooter, I believe) was also a fun romp.
