Christopher Nolan shared that he cracked the mythological elements in The Odyssey by seemingly turning them into natural disasters and environmental effects.
I was so sincerely excited for this when I first saw that Nolan was doing The Odyssey. And then I saw Ellen Page linked to it. And Zendumpster. And just like that, I was out. I'd rather watch two morbidly obese fat women get into the octagon and fight to the death over the last Hostess Sno-Ball.
I will not see the film based on the cast alone. I wonder what sort of compromises Christopher Nolan accepted when fundraising this film. I would rather read and enjoy the original mythology.
So, an epic and iconic cultural history is neutered by a director (who thinks he is a God) because he can not justify the participation of Gods in a story about.... Gods. Homer would laugh at the hubris. Mr. Nolan, you failed the simplest task of bringing The Odyssey to film.
A ray harryhausen style Odyssey would be way better than what lame duck this is showing the signs of being, but with the red flags all over this, why compare it to prime cut of dreams?

Zendaya as Athena?
This movie is going to be trash.
John Leguizamo being in it, as well as “Elliot”(really, Ellen) Page, is an already skip for me.
Starring Matt Damon, Zendaya, Ellen Page, JohnLeguizamo, Charlize Theron? Ugh. I cannot stand those folks. I shall avoid this movie. Hollywood stinks.
