The remake no one asked for. Also, some of us want as little association with Stephen King as is possible.

Stephen King has become like the Mark Penisface Twins - Mark Hamill and Mark Ruffalo. When they're attached to something, it's meant to be avoided at all costs.

It bombed because the original movie is much more fun and over the top. It also featured Lynne Marie Stewart and Lin Shaye in small roles, which was fun. Lynne was most recently Charlie's mom on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and Lin was Mary's crazy, overtanned neighbor in There's Something About Mary and is also in the Insidious movies. And Mick Fleetwood was the old man leader of the resistance, even though he was only 40 years old at the time and continued drumming for Fleetwood Mac for at least 30 more years.

Anthony D’Alessandro is making excuses, right there. This version of the Running Man, was greenlit by the previous Paramount regime, BEFORE, David Ellison and his production company, Skydance, took over. Wouldn’t surprise me if Amthony D’Alessandro worships Stephen King, like he’s kind of God.
